Christine received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in music from TWU, and a Bachelor of Education from UBC. She focused on piano and saxophone, as well as conducting various ensembles. She began her career teaching secondary band and choir with a highlight being her Junior Jazz Band from Campbell River Christian School winning gold at the West Coast Jazz Festival in Nanaimo. She recently completed five years at a local school where she built a music program from the ground up, and she is starting the process again at another school.

Over the years, she has been involved in a variety of experiences from teaching music to preschool children, to arranging music and performing with a vocal jazz ensemble, to directing a “mature” German choir when she didn’t speak a word of German! In recent years, Christine has played piano in the pit orchestra for a number of musicals including Beauty & the Beast, Mary Poppins, Shrek, Annie, Chicago, Sunset Boulevard and the Drowsy Chaperone. She also enjoyed conducting the pit orchestra for Anne of Green Gables.

Presently, Christine owns and operates Millar Music Studio in Chilliwack providing services as an accomplished pianist, teacher, and director. In addition to teaching piano, Christine is also a piano accompanist for a variety of musical endeavors, and is currently on staff as a music director at a local church.
